- Opt for picture framing hooks. These types of hooks, otherwise known as monkey hooks, typically only require a small hole that can easily be repaired if needed. Be sure to check your lease or consult with your landlord to find out if they allow these hooks.
- Don’t forget about good old tape. There are so many different types of tape on the market to choose from, you’re bound to find an option that works for you. Double-sided tape is great for hanging things flat to the wall, like posters and small pictures. Decorative tape can be used to add a design aspect to your décor, or even as a border to mimic a picture frame.
Another smart thing to do when you begin renting a new place is document any existing wall damages or nail holes left over from previous tenants and share the information with your landlord right away. This way, they will not be able to charge for damages you didn’t cause.
